More people than ever before are surviving cancer.

That's because more patients than ever before are participating in state-of-the-art clinical trials testing the newest therapies against standard care. Clinical trials enable physicians to quickly learn which new treatments improve outcomes and reduce side effects in the war on cancer.

Harbin Clinic established its Clinical Research Department in 1997 to facilitate Harbin Clinic physicians in their investigational research efforts. Since that time, we have participated in more than 70 trials with over 40 sponsor organizations. In maintaining a dedicated research department, Harbin Clinic’s mission is to impact American medicine and improve patient care by bringing investigational products through the research process rapidly, accurately, and with the utmost care to preserve the doctor-patient relationship. We observe all Federal Regulations and the principals of Good Clinical Practice in our efforts to obtain and complete phase I-IV investigational trials.

Radiation Oncology in Clinical Trials

Since 1999, Harbin Clinic Radiation Oncology has been a research affiliate of the Radiation Therapy Oncology Group (RTOG) -- the nation's most respected radiation related multi-institutional research group run by the National Cancer Institute. Other clinical trials address medical device and pharmaceutical therapies, and evidence-based complementary and alternative medicine.

Harbin Clinic Radiation Oncology also is a research affiliate of the National Cancer Institute Comprehensive Cancer Center at Wake Forest University.

Chemotherapy in Clinical Trials

Clinical trials are studies of new or experimental medicine (or other new treatments). These studies are done when there is a reason to believe a new drug or a new combination of drugs may be of value in curing or improving outcomes of patients with cancer.

Clinical trials enable physicians to quickly learn which new treatments improve outcomes and reduce side effects in the war on cancer. Harbin Clinic has a dedicated clinical research department. Our patients can access state of the art clinical trials testing the newest therapies against standard care.
