I recently made the best decision of my life by experiencing the LASIK surgery with Dr. Harton and his amazing staff. I grew up always hearing the expression, "a picture is worth a thousand words." I believe that being able to witness the motion picture we call everyday life with 20/20 vision is worth more than I could ever find words to express. During this entire process I was extremely comfortable, informed, pain free, and most importantly, completely satisfied. “While driving home this morning, after my post ICL/LASIK check up, I looked up at the street sign and my breath caught in my chest. I realized as I was staring at that small green sign that I could see the letters clearly. What moved me was the knowledge that I didn’t have my contacts or glasses on my eyes. I’ve worn contacts or glasses for 27 years and without them I probably couldn’t see 6 inches past my face. I was initially worried that my eyes were too bad for corrective surgery. However, after my painless ICL surgery I went from a prescription of -10 to seeing 20/30, and that was at the noon check up (3 hours after surgery!). Because I also had a slight astigmatism in each eye, Dr. Harton also performed LASIK on each eye. The end result is that I’m seeing 20/20! When I was a little girl my birthday wish used to be that I would have perfect eyesight. I knew it was unrealistic, but I wished it still. The beauty of what Dr. Harton and his staff have done for me is that they made that wish come true. What a precious gift!

Before I met Dr. Harton, I was the proud wife of an Army officer with four young children and horrible vision. I could barely see the nose on my own face! The challenges that confront military families are constant - we move frequently, money is always tight, and now that my husband is in Iraq in harm's way, our days are filled with an anxiety and worry for his safety that is always below the surface. My days are filled with praying for his safe return while caring for our four children by myself and trying to give them as normal a life as possible while their father is gone. Anyone who currently has or has had glasses or contacts knows how cumbersome these items can be. I had wanted corrective eye surgery for a long time, but our financial situation would not permit it.
Then I met Dr. Harton. He seemed to understand the difficulties that are faced by military families. He had great appreciation for the sacrifices that are being made every day by our men and women in uniform who spend their days in harm's way. He had equal appreciation for the sacrifices that are faced by those of us who are living life without our loved ones.
